Magical You, Tokyo Japan
TOKYO JAPAN x 2017
To a land of Sushi and limited editions!
Finally here I am blogging about Tokyo after about a year soon?
Since some of my friends are asking me, what to do there and where to go.
Honestly, I didn't really plan much, as it is just a short 5 days trip.
But still, I did lots of amazing things in Tokyo!
Subway Mobile App: Tokyosubway
Thai Airways | SGD461.50 / person
Duration about 8-10 hours, inclusive of one stopover at Bangkok, Thailand.
Airbnb: Cozy room at Heart of Shibuya
Price: SGD488 for 5 nights/Apartment - Room Type
I don't really recommend this apartment though, as this is really small and packed.
More suitable for 1 pax with no luggage.
However, location is really good as it is in central and food stores are open till late night.
Convenient and easy access to subway too!
Will I stay here again?
Nope, i would spend a little more for a bigger room instead in this location.
For a better and more comfortable stay.
MSIG Insurance: Website
Plan: Travel Easy - EliteGroup
Price: SGD74.40 for 2 person
1. MARICAR *This is definitely a MUST TRY!
Website: Voyagin (Search "Gokart" / "MariCar" )
Price: SGD173.20 with Videography included for 2 pax
This was my BEST, most MESMERIZING moment yet DANGEROUS in this trip.
I would love to play all over again and again.
You wouldn't want to play any other Gokart once you tried this.
There are a few outlets around in Tokyo, so find the one you preferred or near to your location.
YES. Driving Licenses are needed.
You are required to apply international license at:
Website: ASS International Driving License
Next, Go to Voyagin and search for "GoKart" or "MariCar" for cheaper rates/promotion.
There's a few outlet, so choose the one you are convenient!
Photography + Videography
I would suggest you to insert your memory card in their GoPro instead.
Yes, they will send a weblink to your email for you to download your video.
BUT, it will take a few hours for you to download it.
There will be a guide leader for you to follow, so don't worry about getting lost in a foreign country! HAHA. Be expected to go up the expressway and drive faster too! Est ~60-90km/h
I went to Odaiba, Tokyo Tower and one of the beautiful streets.
We had a few stopover for some photo-taking and toilet breaks.
The wind was so cold and strong that my tears flows out unknowingly.
Personally i feel that the drivers drive pretty safely and are so kind. As the headlights will be striking towards our eyesight, Japan drivers are really kind enough to off their headlights if we are in front of them. *touched and grateful* Also, there's a lot of sharp hidden corner turn, whereby japan drivers will stop, check and wait for you to go by before they proceed.
My boyfriend said: " I almost died in a car accident 3788 times." HAHAHA.
I would really love to do it over again x infinity.
2. AKIBA FUKUROU OWL CAFE
Address: 〒101-0022 67, Neribeicho, Kanda, Chiyodaku, Tokyo
Station & Map: Here you can find how to get to Akiba Owls from JR Akihabara Station.
Website | Instagram | Facebook
Yes! Please RESERVE at their website before you go! As this place is really popular and they have limited number of seats so that each individual of you can have quality time with the owls.
I would recommend this owl cafe, instead of others after reading through all the reviews. & I truly enjoyed myself here! You get to spend quality time with the owls, clean and yes you are allowed to take lots of photos with them! The staff are helpful and friendly as well.
Look at the last picture of me, definitely left a deep impression for me. Sadly, she only love my boyfriend. When i hold her, first she stood on my shoulder then next moment onto my head. & She SHIT on my head, FLAP HER WINGS, I got scared and accidentally let go the string and she flew back to her place. ):
The shit is hot and it flows down my neck ):
However as they always say, bird shit brings you good luck.
Look all the way till the end to know why i say it brings you good luck? HAHA.
3. TOKYO DISNEYSEA
Website | Getting There
Gotten my ticket through JTB Travels in Singapore.
Train Station: Maihama
Advised to get it through online/ agency like JTB Travels, klook for cheaper rates and convenience before you go. So that you will not be stuck in the queue, and could have longer time spent in the park. I went to both before, and i find that disneyland are the same as Hong Kong, just that it is bigger.
I would recommend DISNEYSEA compared to Disneyland because ONLY JAPAN have DISNEYSEA! Whereas, you can go to Disneyland in other countries! I took whole day to finish all the attractions and scrolling through the whole park. Don't forget to catch the fireworks and parade!!!! However, for fireworks i think disneyland are better! HAHA!
TIPS: Remember to get the FAST PASS at every station!
So that you doesn't need to queue for hours for your attractions.
4. KIMONO RENTAL at ASAKUSA
Website | Instagram | Facebook
Outlet/ Store Name: Tokyo Sensoji (Click and display the map.)
Package: Standard Kimono Plan for Couples
Price: ¥6,500(tax included ¥7,020) SGD90.40
It took me about half an hour to decide what i really want to wear, as there is 100s of kimono for us to choose from. You will be brought to a common ladies area to change up and they will do all the dress up for you. Then follow by your hair and a few matching bags for you to choose.
You are given a big bag to put your personal bags/ clothes etc..
They will keep it safe for you.
So no worries! Is free too!
Then you can walk around anywhere everywhere to take photo with your kimono.
Also, It is just walking distance to the most famous Sensō-ji (Asakusa Kannon Temple) located in Asakusa. Beautiful streets and shopping, follow by the temple. If you are lucky you will see some ladies dress up as geisha! Is really cooooool!
Have a day of fun dressing up and experience it. It is not weird ok!!!! HAHA.
5. SUMO WRESTLING STABLE
Price: SGD 120/ person
Started our morning with Sumo Wrestlers for 2 hour!
Purchased our tickets through Viator Website, or else you won't be able to get inside without any permission. As they are really very strict to have any outsiders or passer-by to disturb their training.
After you purchase, you will be meeting the guide at the station near the sumo stable and he will bring you there. While walking over, the guide explain the rules and regulations, their lifestyle, and also attend to all your questions.
It is pretty interesting, to see how they actually practice just right infront of you. Friendly wrestling session in-between themselves. To see and feel the desire, passion, perseverance, endurance in them.
However, 2 hours would be a little bit too long and get bored easily. Maybe because we have to keep silence for the whole 2 hours. So, i guessed watching the real tournament will be much better and much more exciting!
Lastly, it comes with an photo-taking opportunity with one of them after the practice is over.
6. POKEMON CENTER TOKYO AT MEGA TOKYO
Website | Map

Their stuff are pretty affordable, so you can get some gifts for your friends here.
Around this area, there is a lot of shop to go too! So set aside few hours in this place and shop around. Hehehehehe.
7. TORIKATSU CHICKEN (SHIBUYA)

This is one of the hidden eatery that everyone should go!
One of the best Chicken Torikatsu that I've ever tried and I'm missing it right now.
You need quite some time to find this place as this place wouldn't have appear in your mind even you have pass by it!
it is hidden in one of the alley.
Definitely reccommend this place big time, as it is really affordable and tasty!
The meat will definitely make you drool, hardly you will find leftover on anyone's plate.
8. AMEYOKO (アメ横) SHOPPING STREET
Address: 4 Chome Ueno, 台東区 Tokyo 110-0005, Japan
Operations hour: 10am - 8pm
Train Station: Ueno / Okachimachi (Do check your most convenience train station)
As we were there pretty late, we didn't get a chance to see much things though.
So better to get there earlier as i heard it is a crowded area, selling lots of things!
Something that i wouldn't forget about during this trip will be this OWL PLUSH from crawl machine.
After the owl shit on my head, we went to AMEYOKO STREETS and chance upon this arcade where i saw this owl. So I'm like since you shitted on my head today, let me get you as a memory.
Insert the money and the machine is kind of different from those that i used to play. So i accidentally pressed the wrong button. & My boyf was like: WHY YOU ANYHOW PRESS.
Then suddenly it DROPPED! OMG.
OWL SHIT LUCK HAHAHAHAHA.
Just $2 and i got this cute little owl hehehe!
So that's all for my trip. Total we spent probably SGD5000 plus plus? As we play arcade almost everyday to catch stuff toys and etc. haha!
Lastly, kindly TAKE NOTE THAT if you are out of cash,
Withdrawal money at any atm that have visa/mastercard logo in shopping mall or convenience store THAN exchanging money over there. As the rate through Atm is much much much better!!!!
